I was concerned that we wouldn’t be able to get all 10 cast members there at the same time, but we managed. I anticipate at least two more trips to the cabin before we finish this movie.
Everyone was in top form as we worked through the night. There was plenty of Costco turkey rolls, cheese platters, chips, crackers, granola bars, and coffee to get us through the marathon agenda of all the scenes scheduled to shoot. And except for one painfully broken nail for Dani Scott, we got through the night unscathed. Now for the next few weeks, I will edit the scenes we did, pop them into the assemble edit and then plan cabin trip #2, probably within the next month or so.
This will very likely be my last feature film, (making movies with no budget is quite grueling, and I think I’m ready to retire) and I feel we will close out my almost 40-year career with a great capper.
Many of the people in this film are Pirromount veterans; like John McCafferty, Debra Lamb, Douglas MacPherson, Damon Evans, and Hank Grover, amongst others. But the new ones have embraced our unorthodox method of filmmaking with no troubles. I guess I prepared them adequately.
