Craig Bassuk, cinematographer of Polish Vampire in Burbank, Nudist Colony of the Dead and Deathrow Gameshow has returned to the Pirromount fold for a guest stint on Rage of Innocence. He joined forces with current Pirromount Director of Photography, Bruce Heinsius, to help out with a flashback scene where Craig’s daughter Jessica plays Raven Sutton as a 10 year old. The older version of Raven is played by actress Stef Dawson. Craig will also be working on the jail cell scene, creating a digital version of a large cell block to composite seamlessly with the live footage shot awhile back.
This scene, which reveals a moment from the troubled Raven’s past, was shot with the Bassuk touch, which has traditionally been moody, atmospheric and downright eerie. In addition to the three Pirromount films that Bassuk as shot, he also made his own short film in the late 70’s, “Withering,” which impressed Mark Pirro so much that he invited him join forces on Pirro’s first feature film, Polish Vampire in Burbank.
