Movie clapper with laptop and cup of coffee on wooden background

I won't deny it. Scriptwriting is not easy. In fact, to me, making the movie is the easy part. Writing and distributing are the toughest part of the filmmaking process. So, with that being said, here I am, writing away on not one, not two not three or even four, but five screenplays for our next feature. And it's not easy, let me tell you. I probably write a little differently than most screenwriters. I don't just work on one, I work on a few. When I get bored with where one is going, I move onto another one, and so on.

Many of the scripts have similar characters and in some cases, similar situations; and the goal is to see which one gets to a completed first draft first. When that happens, I abolish the others and concentrate solely on the one that crossed the finish line.

So, in a nutshell, here are the five scripts I currently have underway:

Fetal Attraction – This is about a super intelligent fetus that manages to survive an abortion, and ends up running for president, and winning.

Yesterday is Another Day – A story of a guy who wakes up one day and starts living his life in reverse. Each day becomes the day before.

Tit for Tat – Reverend Tatinski, an evangelical preacher, after conning a breast cancer victim into giving him all her money, slowly starts turning into a breast himself.

Untitled – A man dies, but keeps his beneficiaries on their toes as he keeps giving them clues to his riches via premade youtube videos.

Nudist Colony of the Dead: Legacy – It’s been over 25 years since the Nudist Colony murders of 1991. But some people never learn as the next generation of Christians attempt to take over the land that was once ruled by the naked zombies.

Right now it’s not for me to decide which one of these films becomes the next Pirromount Production. It’s all a matter of which script moves along the fastest; and I don’t mind telling you, at this point, it’s anybody’s guess which one will be made. I have equal enthusiasm and contempt for each script I’m working on. And being over 60, I have to admit that my clever writing chops are not what they used to be. Could I ever write another Rectuma or God Complex? I have to say the odds are slim. But, I have to keep trying. I mean, it’s what I do. It’s what I’ve done since I made my first short film in 1970 at the age of 14. So I will keep writing away and hope that the muse of creativity hasn’t completely left me just yet.
