jail set

We’ve completed construction of the jail set that will be used in a couple of scenes from our upcoming feature film, “Rage of Innocence.”  When looking for a jail cell set around Los Angeles, we found that the cheapest one was on a soundstage going for about $850 a day.  As we would need it for at least two days, $1700 for the use of one location was just out of the question for us.  So, we got to work on the Pirromount backlot.  The set took about a week to make, and consists of nothing more than some slats of particle board, about 30 pvc plastic pipes, and wood molding for the horizontal bars.  The entire set was built for about $250.  Now that’s an expense we can live with.  We may even keep it standing after the movie and rent it out to other filmmakers at a fraction of the cost that jail sets currently go for.  Click below to see a short video of how it was constructed.

Hi there . . .

Do you still have that “Rage of Innocence” jail set available? I’m looking to shoot a very short scene in a music video inside a jail cell and I encountered the same cost-prohibitive rates at the various sound stages.

I can be reached by email at sharonblynn@hotmail.com or you can call me at 917-399-8529.

Thanks!
Peace.
